Job Description
Events Manager Position Summary
Manages more than 30 events including black tie gala, awards programs, annual meetings, expos and networking events; including but not limited to scheduling, budgeting, speaker/vendor/sponsor relations, contract negotiations and customer service.
 
Essential Functions
  • Execute scheduled events
  • Agenda conceptualization and programming
  • Manage/sell sponsorships and registrations
  • Key contact for sponsors, attendees, speakers, hoteliers and vendors
  • Statistical event and ROI analysis (sponsorship fulfillment reports)
  • Development and management of multiple budgets
  • Negotiate hotel vendor RFPs, BEOs, contracts and addendums
  • Manage partner-to-partner events (approval, publishing via ChamberMaster)
  • Create event content
  • Set up and teardown of events
  • Assist in special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Knowledge and Skills
Candidate should be capable of initiating and maintaining strong professional relationships. In addition, he/she should be able to coordinate with all the departments to ensure the completion of the associated tasks. A high degree of organization and self-motivation is required, as well as exceptional written and oral communication skills. Additionally, the candidate must have proficient Microsoft Office skills. Independent thinking, confidence and a positive attitude are a must. Need to be able to lift 50lb. Knowledge of CRM programs a plus.
