LCAA is pleased to have Deepal Eliatamby as January’s Leadership Luncheon Speaker.
In 1984, a flight spanning nearly 9,000 miles from Sri Lanka to New York plus one greyhound bus ride to Columbia, SC landed a 17 year old Deepal Eliatamby on the campus of the University of South Carolina. Four years after his arrival, Eliatamby earned a Bachelor’s degree followed by a Master’s – both in Civil Engineering.
At the young age of 37, he became the president of his own engineering company, Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc.; a top 20 performing company in the state of South Carolina.
He has been the recipient of prestigious Edmund Friedman Young Civil Engineer of the Year National Award from the American Society of Engineers, the Young Engineer of the Year award from the SC Society of Professional Engineers and the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from the University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering. He is active on numerous civil boards, fellow of the 3rd class of the Liberty Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
