The LCAA Leadership Luncheon Series, presented by Schmoyer and Company, LLC, hosts a variety of community leaders throughout the year. This luncheon is an opportunity for graduates of the Leadership Columbia program, and guests, to network as well as hear from influential leaders on the local, state and national stages.

The speaker for April's Leadership Luncheon is Melanie Huggins, Executive Director of Richland Library.
Melanie Huggins is a Columbia native, graduate of the University of South Carolina, and leader in our community. Melanie is involved in many other community-based organizations and was named the 2012 South Carolina Outstanding Librarian by the South Carolina Library Association. So far, in her position as Executive Director, Melanie has introduced a new focus for strategic planning as well as designating an Amnesty Week to remove barriers to library service for everyone in the community. In the future, Melanie plans on completing expansion and renovation projects for libraries across the Midlands that will simplify access to information for everyone.
