Taylor DavidsA Night with Bill Browder, "Going Head to Head with Russia"
Bill Browder, CEO of Hermitage Capital Management, once the largest foreign investor in Russia, was kicked out of Russia in 2006 as a threat to national security. Bill Browder claims that his tax lawyer Sergei Magnitsky and he exposed corruption. Magnitsky was imprisoned and died in Russian custody. Browder says that Magnitsky was murdered. In 2012, Browder became the driving force behind the Magnitsky Act, a US law that placed sanction on Russians, who were thought to be responsible for the death of Sergei Magnitsky, by freezing their US assets and prohibiting their entrance into the United States. Russians retaliated by banning the adoption of Russian children by Americans.
